He is
committed to justice in all its forms, from our right to universal
health care and women's rights to make our own reproductive decisions
to the right of the huge majority of Americans who oppose the war in
Iraq to bring our young people home. He opposes the growing division of
this country into the poor and jobless, the struggling middle class,
and the mega-rich. He is an honest man who tells you where he
stands.
The views of his opponent, New York City Councilman
Michael McMahon, are quite different. Though he carries the Democratic
Party label, he has sought the nomination of the Conservative Party.
Though he claims to be prochoice, he has voted against much-needed
information about emergency contraception. He has voted against a
moratorium on the death penalty, and spoken in support of the war in
Iraq.
This is one of those times when the choice between
two Democrats is as clear as the choice between a Democrat and a
Republican. It is a time when your knowledge of the crucial issues --
and your contributions, large or small -- will truly make a
difference.
If you send Steve Harrison to Washington as a member
of our New York Congressional delegation, I believe he will give
justice, hard work and kindness a voice.
With Best Regards,
